Diabetes
As one of the few CLIA test manufacturers in the world, we offer a solution that integrates diabetes markers for the assessment of pancreatic function with markers of autoimmune etiology on a single fully automated CLIA platform.
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease in which the body is unable to properly regulate blood glucose levels. The cause may be insufficient insulin production, impaired insulin action, or a combination of both mechanisms. When insulin fails to perform its function, glucose does not reach the cells effectively and its concentration in the blood rises over time, which can gradually lead to serious damage to blood vessels, nerves, kidneys, eyes, and the heart. Diabetes mellitus is not a single diagnosis, but rather a heterogeneous group of metabolic diseases that differ in etiopathogenesis, clinical course, and therapeutic requirements. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system damages the beta cells of the pancreas, leading to absolute insulin deficiency. Type 2 diabetes develops primarily as a result of insulin resistance and progressive beta cell failure. In addition to these two main forms, there are other types, such as gestational diabetes, monogenic forms, or secondary diabetes associated with another disease or treatment.
Early and accurate diagnosis is essential, and that is precisely why BioVendor Group offers this unique solution.
