Sepsis is a systemic infectious status, which may progress to septic shock associated with great mortality. The progress is very fast and early differentiation between infectious and non-infectious (e.g. surgery, trauma, burns) origin is crucial to apply the right treatment in time.
The BioVendor CLIA tests for the determination of acute-phase response proteins and proinflammatory cytokines are intended to diagnose, predict, and monitor inflammation and sepsis. Early differentiation between bacterial and viral infections is enabled by a unique combo of two specific markers, PCT and MxA.
